How Earling Labs Closer uses AI — in plain English.
Closer helps a contractor win back past customers and old estimates. Its AI drafts short reactivation text messages and emails that are sent on the contractor's behalf, to the contractor's own contacts. Drafting is powered by Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic. Closer has no proprietary AI model of its own.
AI drafts; the contractor decides what gets sent. Every draft can be reviewed and edited, and nothing is sent until the contractor clicks Send.
AI can write things that are inaccurate or that you didn't intend (a price, a discount, a date). Review every draft before you send it. Messages go out under your business's name, and you are responsible for their content and for having each contact's permission to be texted or emailed.
| Feature | What it does | Powered by |
|---|---|---|
| Text drafting | Writes a short reactivation text from your campaign type, tone, and note | Claude (Sonnet) |
| Email drafting | Writes a short reactivation email (subject + body) | Claude (Sonnet) |
| Earling AI help | Answers "how does this work" questions, grounded only in your own account | Claude (Haiku) |
These are not AI: the opt-out line on every text ("Reply STOP to opt out."), the business name/address and unsubscribe link on every email, STOP/START handling, the do-not-contact list, and the 8am–9pm texting window. Those are fixed rules the AI can't change. If the AI key isn't configured, drafts fall back to built-in templates and everything else works normally.
Claude is an AI assistant developed by Anthropic. When a draft is written, the prompt and result are processed through Anthropic's API. We're an API customer of Anthropic, not otherwise affiliated.
To write a draft, Closer sends Anthropic: your business name, the contact's name as entered, what they had done or were quoted for, the campaign type and tone, and your optional note. Phone numbers and email addresses are not sent to the AI. Texts are delivered by Twilio and emails by Brevo. We do not sell your data or your contacts' data.
Anyone who replies STOP (or a similar keyword) is marked do-not-contact and is not texted again; replying START opts them back in. Email recipients can unsubscribe with one click. Opt-outs stay in effect even if a contact is deleted and re-imported.
We don't claim to have built "our own AI" for Closer's drafting — that's Claude. The only proprietary Earling Labs model anywhere in the suite is the Earling Labs Predictor (a stock-forecasting model in our Trading Platform), which Closer does not use.
